AMVETS Mission Statement
"To enhance and safeguard the entitlements for all American Veterans who have served honorably and to improve the quality of life for them, their families, and the communities where they live through leadership, advocacy and services."
AMVETS was founded in 1944 and chartered by Congress.

How one woman’s nonprofit helps Hays County families
AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary Sergeant at Arms Cynthia Bentley, founder and president of "Unforgettable Families and Friends", settled in Hays County after hurricane Katrina.
The back deck renovation IS COMPLETE!!

The wood deck has been replaced with a concrete slab with grooved ramp and metal railings.
More improvements are also in the works.
The front also has added a grooved ramp and safety markings painted on the parking lot surface..

Weekly Breakfasts Are Open to the Public
Welcome! Located in Kyle, AMVETS Post 115 is a veterans support organization that proudly serves Hays County and central Texas. If you know or are a veteran who needs help, we are here for you.
Every Saturday at 0800 (8am), the Post hosts a breakfast. This is the most efficient way to learn more about the Post and to meet current members.
We are very lucky to have generous sponsors (usually local businesses, charities, and/or first responders) who routinely cook breakfast for us. Thanks to all sponsors who help us better support Hays County veterans.
Post 115 also gives a SPECIAL THANKS to Kyle Donuts for donating donuts every week.

AMVETS Post 115 and Auxiliary 115 will make a visitation to Philomena from 9:00-10 a.m. on the last Tuesday of the quarter beginning March 31, 2026 and every quarter thereafter: June 30, September 29, Dec. 29, 2026.

Support for Veterans
AMVETS Post 115 is a federally-chartered non-profit organization consisting of currently serving military members and honorably discharged veterans.
Our mission is to tirelessly support veterans and military members, and to provide community services to enhance the quality of life for all citizens in central Texas. We are a recognized post of the national AMVETS organization.
As a veterans support organization in Hays County and central Texas, Post 115 frequently partners with community leaders to host events on Memorial Day, Flag Day, July 4th, Veterans Day, and more.
We provide hospice last rights, Honor Guard and other memorial services for military funerals when called upon to do so. We also frequently host blood drives, support Hays County Veterans Court, drive veterans to VA medical appointments, and visit local veterans in assisted living facilities.

Additionally, the Post 115 Ladies Auxiliary is open to spouses, mothers, sisters, daughters and granddaughters of AMVETS members living or any veteran who could have become a member of AMVETS but is now deceased. It is a distinct organization from Post 115 with whom we are proud to frequently partner. The Post 115 Auxiliary is very active and it is routinely recognized at the state and national level.
At many events, you will see both Post 115 members and Post 115 Auxiliary members. We combine to better serve Hays County and central Texas. [more...]

Whether you are a member or guest, veteran or not, this is our "home". Let's treat it as such.
Our post has been undergoing some recent building, cleaning and other maintenance. Please help us keep it clean and safe.
- Please clean up after yourself.
- Please do not smoke in or near the post building.
- According to Texas law, it is an offense to smoke in an enclosed area in a public building or within 15 feet from an entrance or openable window.
- The Executive Committee suggests if you wish to smoke in front of the building stand at least 15 feet from the front door; and if in the rear stand beyond the outside dining area or in the BBQ smoker area.
